My name is Luz, I am a new employee at the Children's Museum of Montana. I am 18 years old, and I am deaf.
Growing up, I love to explore the world. I travel so many different places and to different countries. I have learned so much from my experiences, different traditions, different languages, and different foods.
I was adopted from South American when I was three years old. I moved to Rochester, New York. My family and I used to go to Europe every two years, until I was twelve years old. I stop travel for while, until I move to Washington D.C for my private school. From my freshmen year to now, I gain so much from my experience of traveling.
In my freshmen year, we went to Bahamas for two weeks, I learned so much from it. Bahamas has one of the most clean ocean water I ever seen. I seen so many of people, but most of them were poor people and stray animals too. One of many things I love about them was food, they had the most amazing food, they are very healthy and organic, and fresh. My favorite part of all the trip was swimming with the dolphins. It was the most beautiful place I ever seen.
In my sophomore year, I went to South America. I went to Colombia to meet my biological family. I learned so much from meeting them, I learn about my history of my biological family. And most important thing was, I learned why my biological mother gave me away. Anyway, other than meeting my biological family, I also went to Venezuela. I stayed with a friend, we went hiking, swam in the ocean, and we went to Angel Falls. It was the most beautiful place with water falls I ever seen. I stayed at Venezuela for about a week. It was the most amazing experience I ever had.
In my Junior year, I went to two different places. My first trip was on spring break, I went to Thailand. I stayed there for a week with my school, it is called Hotspot travel. It was very hot and humid there, we would have to wake up at six to seven am and go to hike all days until 6-7 pm, then we shop at local street stores until 11 - 12 pm-am. I learned their culture, I went to the many different places with the temples, like Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Rong Khun, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, and more. At their temples, all women must cover their skin on their legs. While men require to wear shorts but must be below than your knee, or use pants. My favorite of all the trip was I rode an elephant, went to Grand Canyon Water Park Chiang Mai, and Thailand water festival. That was my first school trip, it was really fun.
My second trip was in the summer, to France and to south of France. My grandparents live in Paris, right next from the Eiffel tower. I went in the Eiffel tower, I did ride to top of Eiffel tower. I stay in France for two day or three days. Then I took a train to South of France, I stay there for about three to four weeks. And it was very hot, it was about 110 F temperature there, there were no AC. But it was beautiful, I see a lot of farms, and horses, cows, and brown bears. I seen a lot of small town but it is beautiful, people there are very friendly. My trip to South France was amazing, and very beautiful.
As for my senior year, I didn't have an opportunity to travel, because of COVD-19. Until recently, my friend offer me to move to Montana, I thought it will be wonderful experience for me to travel again, at least in the USA. So far, I been learning so much from Montana too, and I love it here, I am plan to stay here little more longer.
I hope everybody enjoys reading of my travel experience.
Thank you Luz! It is fun to read your experiences and we love having you at the museum!
